CONCEPT

The structure is defined by its strong horizontal floor plates that extend beyond the main building envelope, creating deep balconies. This "floating" effect is grounded by a massive, vertical timber-clad service core on the right, which provides a warm, organic contrast to the crisp white masonry.

DESIGN DESCRIPTION

The building is set behind a minimalist perimeter wall that echoes the material language of the main structure vertical wooden slats and concrete panels. The clean lines and verticality suggest an urban infill site where maximizing the footprint and vertical space is a priority. The use of deep overhangs and louvered screens suggests a high level of environmental awareness, aiming to reduce solar heat gain while encouraging cross-ventilation.

  • Material Palette: A refined mix of natural and industrial finishes, including warm wood cladding, exposed concrete, and terracotta jaali perforated brickwork.
  • Vertical Rhythm: Black metal louvers are used strategically across the balconies to provide solar shading and a sense of rhythm to the facade.
  • The Jaali Wall: The use of traditional terracotta screens allows for natural ventilation while maintaining privacy from the street—a classic vernacular response to a tropical climate.
  • Biophilic Integration: A lush rooftop garden with cascading greenery softens the buildings crown, integrating nature into the vertical living space.
